Walk Volunteers Needed!
SAC is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help with the 2013 Walk in Their Shoes Event. The event will take place at the SA center from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. We'll provide training and lunch. Hospital Accompaniment Program Volunteers Needed!
It is with tremendous excitement that the Sexual Assault Center is pleased to announce that beginning April 2013 we will be resuming our Hospital Accompaniment Program. The Hospital Accompaniment Program is an opportunity for community members such as yourselves to be trained as volunteer advocates and provide immediate crisis intervention services to victims of sexual assault at Metro General Hospital. It is our mission to provide healing for children, adults and families affected by sexual assault and to end sexual violence through counseling, education and advocacy. The re-establishment of the Hospital Accompaniment Program is one more way in which the Sexual Assault Center will provide services to victims of sexual assault – a service that the SAC has been providing since 1978.
The Hospital Accompaniment Program will only be as strong and effective as its volunteers. We are currently seeking compassionate community members who may be interested in volunteering themselves or know others who may be interested. The training is scheduled for April 22nd, 24th, 29th & May 1st from 6pm-9pm as well Sat. May 4th 9am-4pm. Clinical
For clinical graduate program internships and practicum, please contact Tavianna Patterson at tpatterson@sacenter.org.
SAC’s clinical graduate student internships are for second year graduate students and require a minimum of a 9-month commitment.
All SAC graduate student internship spaces have been filled through Spring 2013. If you are interested in placement for Fall 2013-Spring 2014, we will be conducting interviews between January and March 2013.
